When a business makes the decision to relocate to new premises the internal FM becomes an integral part of the relocation team. The FM now has to develop a close working relationship with the Relocation project manager, the Fit Out manager, the new building manager and their own organisations senior management.
For some internal FM’s they are also given the responsibility to head the business relocation project itself. This new responsibility can add great stress to their already busy schedule and whilst many will see this as extra pressure (and rightly so) it could also be seen as an opportunity to increase and/or learn a new set of skills.
