Students will gain an understanding of their role of the Change Manager. This role is often introduced during the Workplace Strategy phase in the project. The Workplace Strategist role and Change Manager role can be one and the same person, or can be two separate stakeholders.
Understanding terminology used in the project provides confidence, coherence, improved clarity and clear communication.
There are many special words that are used in design and that the project team will hear in meetings or read in papers. It makes for a more engaged meeting if you understand the words that the Workplace Strategist/Design Team will use to describe and talk to the engagement process and the decisions you need to consider when designing your workplace.

As a Workplace Strategist, you may need to go through a series of formal (or informal) procedures, starting from recognizing a new opportunity to successfully scoring the project, before being able to fully invest yourself into this new workplace project.
There are different methods used when kicking of your project and approaching the project engagement exercises. Generally, there are 12 important steps to take when transforming a workspace, and the Workplace Project engagement exercises can be broken down into 3 main phases.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of the best engagement methods through phase 2 and phase 3, the strategy phase and the implementation phase.

Before you set off on selecting your new premises you need to start this process the same way as every other good strategy, with planning.
Your Corporate Real Estate Manager, who could also be your CFO or Facilities Manager will start doing their research on what workplace planning must occur to get your new space right. And a good place to start would be learning what people mean when they refer to Spatial Principles in the workplace.
Spatial Principles is typically discussed at the time of working through your occupancy model for the business. Spatial Principles in design is related to occupying or having the character of space.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of the importance of Spatial Principles and how they support the organizations future and sets the framework for how the business will occupy and use the workplace.

After the organization has the Workplace Strategy Briefing Activities complete, they will have the findings of the Engagement Process that included: Leadership Workshops, Functional Interviews, Employee Surveys, Visioning Workshops, and Site Visits and Workplace Tours.
The Workplace Strategist/Design Team will be able to integrate known Workforce Forecasting in with the Spatial Principles developed from this 6-8 week period and have now the first stage of the Design Process complete. This will enable them to provide a great deal of information on workforce forecasting, meeting project objectives, a neighborhood Growth Strategy, Space Budget Baselines, and Spatial Principles. In short, a Workplace and Occupation Strategy that can now be endorsed and socialized.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of what the outcomes of the Workplace Strategy may be and how the Property Lead or Project Director should communicate to the PCG.

A Workplace Strategy Project Plan is a set of documents that shows and instructs how the workplace project will be executed and managed during its execution.
Depending on the project scope and company size, a workplace transformation project can be very challenging and complicated.
Having a Workplace Strategy Plan in place enables the team to track their progress toward the project goals, and each team member can understand their roles and recognize their impacts on a successful project completion.
In this course, you will gain an understanding of the process of developing and organizing a Workplace Strategy Plan and the phases in creating such a plan.
